As featured in the current edition of Correctional News as the Facility of the Month for May and June of 2024, the new Surry County Detention Complex in North Carolina includes the E-911 and emergency management departments, as well as a 360-bed detention center designed by Moseley Architects.
The detention center features rear maintenance chases behind the housing units, a color-coded housing system, a more normative design, and increased ADA accessibility—thanks in part to the pre-manufactured steel cells. To help meet the facility’s plumbing fixture budget without sacrificing security or quality, the new facility features the following Willoughby products:
- 204 combination lavatory and toilet units,
- 202 mirrors, and
- 20 grab bars
