Intentional flooding in correctional facilities can create costly maintenance demands, disrupt operations, and waste significant amounts of water. A report from FOX59 in Indianapolis examined how Madison County jail officials were working to address repeated inmate-caused flooding.
To provide greater control over fixture use, the facility installed electronic water controls from Willoughby Industries. These systems allow staff to manage water usage and restrict excessive fixture activation, helping reduce the risk of flooding while supporting lower water and sewer consumption. Depending on the application, Willoughby electronic water controls can help reduce water and sewer usage by up to 50 percent.
