The Greene County Jail Project is maintaining momentum! After the initial plan of adding to the existing jail was determined to exceed the project’s budget, Greene County proposed building a new jail and Sheriff’s Office in a different location. That project is moving along quickly and is estimated to be completed in the Spring of 2022. The new Greene County Jail will house approximately 1,200 individuals with cell occupancy varying from 4-person cells to 2-person cells and, to help meet the correctional facility’s plumbing fixture budget without sacrificing security or quality, the new facility will feature stainless steel plumbing fixtures by Willoughby Industries.
